Oceania Month continues on Episode 181 as Dan, Mitch and Jules welcome to the show Mark, Garth and Leon, aka; The Dicemen Cometh. The Dicemen Cometh have been trailblazers in the Australian Board Gaming scene for the past 10 years or more and they share with us some stories from along the journey, as well sharing their thoughts on some of the most popular games going around today. Exactly how many games are Leon's ‘Favourite Game of All-Time’? Find out in this fun interview.
Next the team break down three of the categories from the upcoming Board Game BBQ Awards: Best Light Game, Best Mediumweight Game and Best Heavy Game. You can find the link to the nomination form on all of our socials including Discord, Twitter, Instagram and on our Discord Community. Nominations are open to anyone in the community for three weeks. Facebook, Discord, Instagram, Twitter. Nominate in all 9 categories, or just a few. Once nominations close on Sunday 27th then we take the most-nominated game in each category and they become the official nominees for the BBQ Awards. Then we hand it over to our esteemed panel of judges; our Patreons; to vote. And this will all culminate in the BGBBQ Awards Night which once again will be filmed for YouTube, and we hope to have some surprises on the show as well.
In the Board Game Bracket we settle the last match-up, Twilight Imperium 4th Ed vs Targi, before we cue up the next battle: Crokinole vs A Feast For Odin. To make sure your favourite goes through to the next round make sure you vote on our socials.
Finally, in Swear An Oath, Mitch played After The Virus but gave up on the solo version of Cerebria, while Dan completed his oaths of Radlands but continues on his mission to crack 70 on Hadrian's Wall, and Jules completes his oath to paint all of his Nemesis creatures but still has Cosmic Frog to play. New oaths include Harsh Shadow (Mitch), Tiny Epic Pirates (Dan), completing Ark Nova in under 4 hours (Mark), getting everyone to play nice so he can win (Leon), Cyclades Titans with 6 players (Garth) and there's more painting ahead for Jules!

Games and Wasps and Blips, Oh My!
On this episode Adrian and Sarah continue Oceania Month with two Australian designers: Kenny Michael-Otton and Leigh Perrott. Surprisingly the pair have similar backgrounds in playing board games as kids, and also being heavily involved in competitive gaming which set them on the path of the designing games. Kenny and Leigh share the inspiration behind their games, as well as their approach to creating a specific gaming experience for players.
Next the gang kick off the 2021 Board Game BBQ Awards and discus the first three categories: Best Solo Game, Best Family Game and Best Party Game. On this special episode Mitch, Mike, Dan and Conor kick off Oceania Month with the designer of the much-loved Hadrian's Wall: Bobby Hill. Bobby shares with us what games helped inspire Hadrian's Wall, lets us into the clandestine goings-on of his gaming group, laments as he slowly evolves into his father, and lets us in on his next project!

On this special episode Adrian, Mitch and Sarah are joined by Ben and Adam from Motor City Games. Adrian is so excited to have the boys on the show that his internet spontaneously combusts! Like a house with a fresh lick of paint we are back with a new intro and a new vibe. Episode 175: Messina 1347, Res Arcana: Perlae Imperii, Through The Ages
On this episode, we are changing things up a bit. Firstly the awesome foursome - Conor, Sarah, Adrian and Mitch - catch up on what they've been playing lately, including Ark Nova, Messina 1347, On Mars, Through The Ages, and Res Arcana: Perlae Imperii amongst talk of ice-cream, civilization games, and "combotasticity". (Mitch swears it's a word!)
